Butterworth (Year 3 & Year 4)
Welcome to Butterworth Class
Teacher: Miss Ralf
Teaching Assistants: Miss Turner & Mrs Hornsey
Class email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Or send a message through Classdojo.
Homework will be sent out on FRIDAY and needs to be returned the following Wednesday.
It is also essential that all children read every day. This can be a mixture of you reading to them and them reading to you.
Reading at Home
Your child needs to read at home every day. They will need to record their own reading each time. Please sign each read in their Reading Journal and on their special reading bookmark so that they can be in with the chance of this term's reward - extra playtime and a Mr. Whippy ice cream!
Please see Classdojo for daily news and photographs.
Please find below the topic map for the Summer Term - Term 6
Our Days in Butterworth Class:
We start the day with either a writing or maths activity. Once the children have put their bags and coats away, they independently get on with this task.
This term we are writing a non-chronological report about skeletons and muscles. Later this term we will then be looking at poem writing, taking inspiration from the rivers of the world.
We follow Jane Considine’s spelling scheme. These lessons consist of various spelling investigations and great activities to help the children with their spellings.
In Butterworth class we follow the letter join handwriting scheme. Every day we have a session building towards joined up handwriting.
This term both Year 3 and Year 4 will be focusing on time and then moving onto shape later in the term.
In guided reading we use Bug Club and we will be looking at a range of different texts that will support our comprehension.
This term in R.E Butterworth will be exploring the question "Do people need to go to church to be Christian?"
During the afternoons the children will have sessions covering PE, Geography, Science, PSHE, Music, French, ART or Computing.
