Homework
Homework will be sent out on FRIDAY and needs to be returned the following Wednesday.
It is also essential that all children read every day. This can be a mixture of you reading to them and them reading to you.
Reading at Home
Your child needs to read at home every day. They will need to record their own reading each time. Please sign each read in their Reading Journal and on their special reading bookmark so that they can be in with the chance of this term's reward - non-school uniform day and board games afternoon!
Term 3
Please see Classdojo for daily news and photographs.
Please find below the Parent Planner for the Spring Term - Term 4
Our Days in Butterworth Class:
Morning Task
We start the day with either a writing or maths activity. Once the children have put their bags and coats away, they independently get on with this task.
English
As writers we will be writing a narrative based on the book The Last Bear by Hannah Gold. Later this term we will be taking inspiration from the book The Happy Prince which is based on a fairy tale by Oscar Wilde.
Spelling
We follow Jane Considine’s spelling scheme. These lessons consist of various spelling investigations and great activities to help the children with their spellings.
Handwriting
In Butterworth class we follow the letter join handwriting scheme. Every day we have a session building towards joined up handwriting.
Maths
As mathematicians, we will be developing our understanding of factions. Later in the term Year 3s will be moving onto mass & capacity whilst Year 4s will be working on decimals.
Guided Reading
In guided reading we use Bug Club and we will be looking at a range of different texts that will support our comprehension.
Religious Education
In R.E we are exploring the question: What matters to Christians about Easter?
Afternoons
During the afternoons the children will have sessions covering PE, Geography, Science, PSHE, Music, French, Art or Computing.
